Guess who’s procrastinating?
So a lovely friend of mine posted a link back to this site from her blog and well, that got me thinkin’. It’s time. Time to write again. Time to pick up my on-again, off-again relationship with the blog. Oh, and this thought just so happens to coincide with the due date of a paper for my MBA program. Perfect timing.
Naturally, I choose blogging.
Who cares about lean production practices anyways?
Okay, here’s the last 6 months in a nutshell: new house, new car, new perspective. Ready to write again.
A few thoughts on friends. As I grow older, I realize the immense value of friendship and the importance of surrounding yourself with those who inspire you to become a better you. I learned from a friend recently that when you loosen the death grip on the expectations associated with your plans, they are suddenly free to grow into something better than you could have predicted.
I’m a compulsive planner and list maker. So when I began this blog project I knew I needed a plan and a platform and timed out written pieces. I tried to figure out what to do if I went on vacation, could I blog about that? Would they have wi-fi? What if I ran out of stuff to blog about? OH, MY, GOD...it became overwhelming. Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm working full-time, finishing up an MBA, and am easily distracted by, oh, everything. I can barely remember to feed the cats...how can I feed this blog?
Ok deep breath. I'm gonna let this project have a life of its own. I'm gonna feed it (but it will be less often than the cats**) and let go of expectations. My only purpose is to make time to write and reflect and hopefully share something of use to the world.
There. Done. First blog of 2011 is complete.
**The cats, if you must know, get fed once a day. They are fat and healthy. None were harmed in the making of this blog. **
Yay! Welcome back. You were missed :-)

You know...you don't need WiFi. There are TypePad apps (and WordPress and Blogger and every other blog type) for just about every phone. You can bang it out on your iphone!
